TWO charities are to benefit from golf days at Redlibbets Golf Club, near Brands Hatch, next month and there's still time for you to get involved.

On Thursday, September 10, there's a good chance to dust off your clubs for Gravesham Chamber of Commerce's golf tournament. For just £45 you will receive a bacon sandwich and cup of coffee, round of golf and evening meal. You can apply as an individual or get organised into pre-arranged four-balls.

The winner on the day will receive a balloon trip, courtesy of Skytek, and there are lots of other prizes to be won in raffles.

During the evening there is an auction, presided over by former England rugby player Mick Skinner, with all proceeds going directly to the Lions Hospice in Northfleet.

Entries close on August 28, so call Paul Bennett on 01474 833 338 (w) or 01322 407 444 (h) for details.

The second event falls on Saturday September 12, when Redlibbets hosts the Robert Powell Golf Classic. The event is being sponsored by OCO Heating and supported by The Daily Mirror, with money raised going to the Eliminate Leukaemia Foundation (ELF).

A host of celebrities have been invited to play on the day but organisers are still looking for companies or individuals to sponsor holes.

A premier hole costs £500 and others £300.

If companies have products to sell, a representative will be allowed on the course for the day.

For more information call Redlibbets' Golf Club on 01474 879190, or vice captain Ted Purser, on 0181 304 7393.
