In a week when I've had so many reports from anglers telling me of personal bests being broken it is very disappointing that every single one has come from stillwaters.

My news however won't be bothering Reigate's Paul Forbes. The 19 year-old is enjoying a double celebration after breaking his personal best mark for a common twice in one day. Fishing the oak tree swim with luncheon meat tight to the margins, Paul's first lump was a 22 and a half lb. pounder, 6lb heavier than his previous best and he soon followed up with a superb 26lb-2oz specimen. Kingston's Steve Granger's personal best Tench stood at a modest 2lb before a trip this week to Twynersh Lakes at Chertsey.

Steve's strawberry sweetcorn fished a foot over depth under a waggler brought him a 'Proper' tench in the form of a superb 6lb 9ox specimen.

The only decent report from our rivers this week is from the Thames at Sonning where Tooting angler Peter Bartholomew trotted caster to take a 30lb Bag.

Well done to Jason Landymore in winning the final round of West Ewell A.C.'s Willinghurst Cup with 22lb. The victory makes Jason the outright winner of the trophy and I'm sure I speak for all the members when I say it was thoroughly deserved.
