Old fashioned, boring and irrelevant is how many people view Enfield Council.
The workings of the Civic Centre are a mystery to much of the population who regard the authority as mere bureaucracy.
With that in mind, the borough's political leaders have made proposals to shake up the council and get the community more involved.
The public has yet to have its say on the plans and there is a long way to go before any changes are noticeable.
But whatever happens, when elected politicians realise they are out of touch it can only be a good thing for everyone.
