BOMB disposal experts from the Territorial Army have been showing off their skills in the largest display of reserve armed forces.

A team from the 222 Field Squadron, based in Dartford, represented the only bomb disposal engineer regiment in the TA at The Reserve Forces Experience, held at Minley Manor training area near Aldershot.

Over the three-day event, attended by more than 7,000 visitors, they demonstrated how unexploded bombs scattered by a crashed enemy aircraft could be located and made safe.

Staff Sergeant Ken Jones said: "It has been good to be able to show explosive ordnance disposal to both the public and the rest of the TA. They all found it very interesting."

The 222 Squadron meets every Tuesday evening at the TA Centre, Stone Place Road, Greenhithe, and is now ooking for new recruits.

Keen and fit young men or women, aged between 17 and 32, who are interested in joining the TAs, should call in at the centre or call 01322 384485 for further details.
