Patricia and John Carter, 73 and 80 respectively, of Arrol Road, have nominated their neighbour Maureen Van Sittart.
The 61-year-old secretary takes the couple to doctor's appointments for Mr Carter's emphysema and helps them with shopping.
Mrs Carter said: "She's just a generally very nice person. She's so helpful to us and I know we can always call on her and just in general she is good to us."
Ms Van Sittart said she was "amazed" to be nominated.
