VULNERABLE groups are being urged to contact their GP and sign up for their flu jab.

The free immunisation programme has just been launched in Bexley.

Those at risk include all people aged over 65 and anyone who suffers from asthma, diabetes, serious heart, chest, kidney and liver conditions or lowered immune system and those who are the main carers of elderly or disabled people.

Parents of "at-risk" children are particular targets this year, after only 51 per cent of eligible children came forward last year for their jab.

To find out more about the immunisation programme, talk to your surgery or call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47.
