BROMLEY'S Tory MPs are split over who they will support in the Conservative leadership race.

David Cameron, Kenneth Clarke and David Davis all got one vote each but Liam Fox did not receive a single mention.

Beckenham MP Jacqui Lait originally supported Malcolm Rifkind but has switched to favourite Mr Cameron.

She said: "I will be coming out in support of David Cameron because we need a candidate who can unify the party, be a good Prime Minister and who has an interest in developing our policy for the 21st Century while sticking to our Conservative philosophy."

Bromley and Chislehurst MP Eric Forth said: "I'm supporting David Davis because I know him well and his views are close to mine on the most important subjects.

"He has experience with not too much baggage and I think when he becomes leader he will be attractive to voters."

Orpington MP John Horam said: "I'm going to support Clarke or Cameron, not Davis and not Liam Fox.

"I think both Clarke and Cameron have got an appeal to the centre ground with their politics.

"They're moderate sensible people and nice human beings and this is their appeal to me."

This week MPs will pick which two candidates party members will vote on in November .
