TWO people have been arrested for hampering an inquiry into the murder of a Belvedere man.

A man, aged 44, and a woman, aged 40, were arrested last Thursday on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and were released on police bail until the end of next month.

Falwinder Singh Badesha, 27, was found dead at his home in Holmhurst Road, Belvedere, just before 8pm on September 21. He had been stabbed.

Mr Badesha was one of four young men from Amritsar, India, living in the house, who all worked at a nearby factory.

Police believe a fight broke out between Mr Badeshar and one of his housemates, Sukhdip Singh Chhina, aged 23, about keeping the house tidy.

Chhina fled the house shortly afterwards, wearing brown shoes, dark trousers and a checked shirt.

He had a cut on his forehead and may have been carrying a plastic bag.

It is thought Chhina may have returned to the Belvedere area where he has friends, or he may be staying with people he knows in Greenwich, Gravesend, Ilford, Southall or in the Midlands.

Detective Inspector John Oldham, who is leading the murder investigation, appealed to Chhina to give himself up to police.

He also asked for any friends who know his whereabouts to call police on 020 8721 4805 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
