A COMMUNITY is rallying around an elderly couple attacked by two men who forced their way into their home.
The incident occurred in Rhododendron Avenue, Meo- pham, between 10.45pm and 11pm.
The pair forced the front door of the house open and hit the 90-year-old owner's wife, 84, over the head before locking the couple in a bedroom.
They stole a large amount of cash which had been put aside by the couple to pay bills.
A neighbour said: "We have all been making sure the couple are alright. There is a community spirit and they are very much part of it."
Anyone with any information about the October 9 attack should call Detective Constable Nick Whiteoak at north Kent police on 01474 565167 quoting reference 22398.
