A MODERN sculpture based on the public's suggestion of a modern-day 10 Commandments has got the thumbs-up from Bexley people.
The piece was commissioned by Channel 4 following a programme last year which asked people to nominate 10 new commandments.
Artist Sokar Douglas-Camp was asked to create a piece interpreting the most popular of the new commandment treat others as you would be treated.
Although expressed as a Christian tenet, the idea is echoed across many faiths.
Her sculpture shows three figures, in red, blue and pink, throwing the text of the commandment between them and will be in the pedestrianised area of the Broadway for eight weeks.
Most passers-by reacted positively when asked by News Shopper, saying they liked the sentiment and thought it looked "bright and cheerful".
