A CONSTRUCTION firm has won the right to build the new leisure centre in Eltham.
Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd beat two rival bidders to sign a contract to construct the £19m facility in Archery Road, Eltham.
The deal was rubber-stamped by Greenwich Council chiefs at a cabinet meeting last week.
The new centre, which will include swimming and gym facilities, is being built as part of a reorganisation of leisure facilities in the borough.
Demolition work at the site has already begun and the centre is expected to open to the public by autumn 2007.
