EXCHANGE: Lewisham College has successfully bid for two funding streams for two bilingual exchange projects with schools in France and Cyprus. Sixten to 19-year-olds will be able to investigate ancient Greek buildings and study the architecture of London and learn about each other's cultures and languages.
WINNERS: The Greenwich in Bloom competition recognised residents whose gardens and window boxes brightened up the borough. Winners included: Mrs Amos, Dunblane Rd, Eltham; Mrs Wright, Cresent Road, Woolwich; Mr Jones, The Dell, Abbeywood, and Mrs Hamilton-Jones, Westhorne Avenue, Eltham.
TALENT SHOW: Soul singer Roy Shirley is hosting a talent competition. The third heat is on Saturday at the Middle Park Community Centre, Middle Park Avenue, Eltham, from 5pm to 10pm. Call 020 8312 1162 for an application form.
WALK THIS WAY: More than 30 schools in Greenwich took part in international walk to school week. The initiative is part of Greenwich Council's school travel plan to encourage safe walking, cycling and public transport use.
