AN NHS trust has re-appointed three key board members to oversee performance and financial planning.

Darent Valley Hospital has once again chosen mother-of-three Sarah Dunnett to serve as chairman of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust.

The 48-year-old took over as chairman in August 2001 after Alex King, who held the role for four years, resigned.

Mrs Dunnett will serve another four years on the board, receiving £19,454 a year.

She was a senior manager in the oil industry for 18 years, will chair meetings and make sure all 10 board members are held accountable for their decisions.

Ron Edmondson, 53, has also been re-appointed as non-executive director for the trust until 2009.

The father-of-three will consult board members on business decisions, including buying hospital equipment, complaints procedures and waiting list targets.

Mr Edmondson, a qualified accountant, will receive £5,673 per year for his services to the NHS.

The trust is responsible for ensuring all business matters within the Darenth Wood Road hospital run smoothly.
