Based on the Henry James novel Washington Square, The Heiress is being performed by the Teddington Theatre Club.
Love and intrigue are the main ingredients for this play, which centres on Catherine Sloper and her bullying father.
Catherine is a lonely, shy, awkward young woman who, according to her father, lacks charm, social graces and beauty.
So it is with delight and amazement that Catherine finds herself being courted by Morris Townsend, a most charming and attentive suitor.
But is he, as her father suspects, nothing more than a fortune hunter?
To find out get down to the Hampton Hill Playhouse where The Heiress opens tomorrow night. For information and tickets call 020 8979 9499.
