BROMLEY Council's allotments and leisure gardens section has won a major national award.
The council department has been awarded first prize in the 2001 National Society's for Allotments and Leisure Gardens' competition for the best managed and most innovative service in the country.
The National Society has this year repackaged some of its awards, allowing local authorities to enter.
Robbie Stoakes, Bromley's director of leisure and community services, said: "Bromley has reinforced its image as the clean and green borough. We would like to thank all of our partners for their hard work."
