POLICE have renewed attempts to track down a schoolboy con artist after a News Shopper reader supplied them with an artist's impression of the boy.
The News Shopper reported on a teenager who conned his way into the homes of three old age pensioners in Bromley and St Paul's Cray, in May this year.
In all three cases, he pretended to be raising sponsorship for his football club.
Once inside the homes, the youngster stole purses, wallets and cash.
After reading the article, another pensioner realised he had also been approached by the same boy.
The man, who does not want to be named out of fear of reprisals, is an artist by trade. He painted a picture of the lad from memory for the police.
The teenager is black and about 13 or 14 years old.
Officers say the picture is a good likeness of the boy and are urging anyone who may have been similarly approached to call Detective Constable Ken Windsor on 020 8284 8048.
