A HEALTH chief has been appointed to deal with recruitment for NHS trust boards in the south east.
Bernard Williams has been appointed south east regional commissioner for the NHS appointments commission.
The commission was set up in July last year to deal with the recruitment of chairman and non-executives to NHS boards.
It also deals with appraisal and training.
Mr Williams has a business and professional background. He was personnel director of British Aerospace and British Rail. And for five years he was chairman of Bethlehem and Maudsley NHS Trust.
Commission chairman Sir William Wells said: "I am very pleased with the appointment of this excellent team.
"I look forward to working with the all the new commissioners in developing recruitment and appointment procedures in which everyone can have confidence."
