More than 60 vehicles of the vintage variety will be invading the pedestrian paradise that is Sutton High Street on Sunday, July 15.
The Comet and its sister paper the Sutton Guardian are sponsoring the Classic Car and Motor Bike Show, organised by the town centre management group, which will bring everything from a 1923 Austin 7 van to a 1963 Woolsey 1500cc to Sutton.
They will be joined by a 1928 Ford Coupe, 1931 Sunbeam, a 1935 Austin 7 Ruby Deluxe, a 1945 Harley Davidson, a 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline and many other examples from the old school of motoring.
They will fill the street, from the town square right down to at least McDonalds, but
anyone who wants to enter their veteran and vintage
machines have until next
Saturday to do so.
And to inject a smidgen of competition into the days
festivities, Mayor of Sutton councillor John Leach will be on hand to judge the best among the crop.
It runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm, during which shops and restaurants will be open, and for more details call town centre manager Richard Thomas on 020 8770 5114.
