Almost every day we read or hear of the pressure teachers and headteachers face nowadays in schools.
The Tory idea of league tables, places a great deal of pressure on teachers, pupils and parents. Unfortunately, Labour has followed likewise instead of abolishing them altogether.
So it is that schools face a desperate shortage of teachers. League tables is one of the many causes. Other causes include poor pay only a 3.7 per cent increase recently.
In some cases, staff endure bullying and bad language from pupils and parents! It is difficult to encourage young people to join the teaching
profession as a worthwhile career nowadays. Teaching previously was a commendable job and respected by parents and the public.
