Residents needing help easing themselves into autumn can join in on events being organised around the borough next week.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is holding an autumn fair at All Saints Hall in Sanderstead, from 10.30am to 3.30pm this Saturday where information, crafts and more will be on sale. For more information phone 020 8777 9370.

Residents intrigued by woodland mushrooms can meet at the drinking fountain in Woodland Way before joining a funghi hunt in Spring Park. The two-hour walk starts at 10.30am on Saturday. Contact 020 8660 8533.

Several more hardy walks are also on the agenda, including a 10 mile walk at Peaslake on Sunday. Candidates should meet at East Croydon Station at 9.30am. Contact Croydon Holiday Fellowship Rambling Club on 020 668 4919. The club is hosting another 10 mile ramble at Turners Hill at 9.30am on Sunday, November 4.

For the less active, at 7.45pm on Wednesday, October 31, Croydon Natural History & Scientific Society will host a talk on the breweries of Croydon. It will take place in the Small Hall, East Croydon United Reformed Church Hall, Addiscombe Grove. Contact 020 8688 4539.
