Purley John Fisher went out of the Intermediate Cup on Saturday as Effingham & Leatherhead, a side two leagues above them, finally ran out easy winners in this second round tie.
Despite the convincing scoreline, E & L certainly did not have things all their own way, particularly in the first half.
The impressive Neil Kirkpatrick, with a well-struck penalty, gave the home side the lead after just ten minutes.
This was just the start PJF needed, but the visitors managed to draw level mid-way through the half.
The match was evenly balanced until Effingham asserted their authority with a second try and dominated to win.
This Saturday Purley John Fisher are at home to Barnes in a league fixture.
