CRANES, boats and planes took over a Bromley Scout hall when the South East London Meccano Club (SELMEC) came to town. The club's 23rd annual exhibition was held at the 3rd Bromley Scout Hall, in Glenville Road, and was organised by its Eltham founder, Chris Warrell.
SELMEC, which started in 1977, is a group of enthusiasts who support each other's work and exchange ideas.
This was a special exhibition as the Meccano system, designed by famous Liverpool toymaker Frank Hornby, is 100 years old this year.
The hall was packed with working models and new and second-hand Meccano sets and spares were on sale.
Mr Warrell said: "Today's Meccano is very similar to the old stuff, although now there are more parts and different colours.
"Everyone was guaranteed an enjoyable experience."
Proceeds, not yet counted, will go to the 3rd Bromley Scouts.
