REGARDING Harlow councillor Alan Frost's response in last week's Citizen over the cleanliness of the town centre.

First of all, I am amazed at your comment about cigarette butts and packets. You must have used a magnifying glass to spot them among the empty food containers, drink cans, discarded fish and chip paper etc.

Stop using smokers as an excuse for the eaters who frequent the town centre and drop their empty containers and wrappers anywhere they choose.

I think Harlow bus station should be designated a 'no eating area' it is a disgrace, like the rest of the town centre.

I am fortunate to own a car, which allows me to shop elsewhere, Chelmsford for example, which has excellent shopping facilities, but most important of all, the shopping area is absolutely spotless and, guess what, they have smokers in Chelmsford too!

Harlow Council should start dishing out a 'zero tolerance campaign' to lazy, inconsiderate people who drop litter, dump rubbish, dump cars etc.

I am afraid we have too many inconsiderate people in our society today who have been allowed to get away with things for far too long because the authorities have allowed them to do so,and the poor unfortunate decent folk in this town-country dragging everything down to their unacceptable level.
