Streathams Commonwealth boxing champion Richard Williams warmed up for his title defence against highly-rated Australian Shannon Tay-lor in December by stopping Ukraines Victor Fessetchko in the sixth and final round in Portsmouth last Saturday, writes Ziad Chaudry.
The 30-year-old LambethCouncil meals-on-wheels emp-loyee dominated the contest throughout and closed the proceedings with a booming right that sent Fessetchko tumbling into a corner. Referee Ian John Lewis immediately halted the fight with just 39 seconds left of the contest.
Richard is looking forward to meeting Shannon Taylor, a former world title challenger, in London on December 1.
He told Sky Sports: Ive heard hes strong and useful, but so am I and the best man will win on the night.
