A GREENWICH woman who hid nearly four kilos of cocaine down her corset was jailed for seven years by Middlesex Crown Court.

Adefunke Collins was arrested by customs officers at Waterloo as she left the Eurostar train from Paris at Waterloo International on Sunday, June 24.

The 41-year-old, of Thornham Street, was stopped with her 12-year-old daughter in a routine check by officers.

Collins claimed at the time that she had been shopping in Paris for shoes but officers were suspicious and searched her at the station.

The 100 per cent pure hoard of the Class A narcotic they discovered would have fetched around £350,000 on the drugs market, according to customs spokesman Steve Hallworth.

He said: "Had this consignment reached the streets, the money paid would have lined the pockets of criminals and would have brought misery to hundreds of people. This is a job well done but we and our officers will continue to take firm action against those who are involved in drug smuggling."

The seizure was a vindication of HM Customs and Excise' s annual £200 million investment in the fight against drug smuggling, he said.
