Shirley golfing pals Ronald Pizzey and Peter Luff fulfilled their golfing dreams recently as they played over the Old Course at St. Andrews, every golfers dream.
The two friends from Shirley Park Golf Club finished 13th in the International Final of the Famous Grouse Shotgun Foursomes.
Ronald said: "All the (club) winners go into a pot. We went to St Andrews on October 2 and 3 along with 26 other teams."
Ronald, 61, from Grange Garden, South Norwood and Peter, 61, from Bromley, had beaten entries from over 100,000 golfers at 787 clubs.
The pair did all Shirley golfers proud as they reached the final at the Home of Golf by carding an 81.
The winners were Prem Sachdev and Binod Shrestha from the Gokarna Golf Club in Nepal.
Ronald and Peter were still beaming with pride at their achievements.
Ronald said: "It was brilliant. I've never been to St Andrews and walking on the course where all the greats have played was wonderful."
