SURREY MEN'S DIV TWO: LONDON EDWARDIAN 3 drew with KENLEY 3
Kenley continued to keep their team spirit alive throughout this challenging match despite only having a squad containing a bare minimum of 11 players.
Against the run of play, London Edwardian scored a controversial goal 10 minutes into the first half.
Kenley pulled a goal back five minutes later after the goalkeeper failed to clear Paul Bateman's short corner strike which was promptly pounced upon by Nick Webb.
An own goal by the Kenley defence handed the lead back to the Ed's and was followed shortly after by a well worked goal to leave Kenley down 3-1 at half-time.
An inspired team talk by captain Robert Snowden had the desired affect when, early into the second half, Andy Wright scored a nice goal leaving the keeper flat-footed.
Kenley continued to battle on and the equaliser came soon afterwards when Grant Shepherd followed up Andy Moore's attempt on goal, which deflected off the keeper's pads.
Ed's found themselves on the back foot as Kenley pushed on to find the winner, coming very close when Andy Wright struck the post.
Despite their efforts the winning goal eluded them and the game ended in a 3-3 draw.
