Once again the district's team returned a mixed bag of results from weekend fixtures.

Last Saturday Croydon FC were well beaten at home to Boreham Wood in the Premier League while Whyteleafe were also beaten away at Uxbridge.

But it was not all gloom and doom as Dulwich earned themselves a home draw with Harlow Town in Division One.

And in Division Three, Croydon Athletic continued scoring goals for fun in their home demolition of Clapton.

But in the Premier Division, Croydon had chances early in their 5-0 defeat at home to Boreham Wood, who have just appointed Tommy Sampson as their manager. But it was Boreham Wood who took the lead on 15 minutes before any thoughts of a Croydon revival were almost lost on 36 minutes when they fell 2-0 behind .

The second half proved to be a disaster as Boreham Wood added two further goals in the first 10 minutes. Despite an effort from Nick McDonnell that hit the bar for Croydon, they were to concede a further goal in injury time to complete a miserable afternoon.

In Division One, Whyteleafe travelled to Uxbridge and suffered a 2-0 defeat.

But the scoreline defied the tightness of the affair and Whyteleafe made their hosts fight all the way for the points.

Dulwich Hamlet entertained Harlow Town and can feel satisfied with a home point against a very dominant outfit. Harlow took the lead on eight minutes and from that point Harlow ran the show.

But Dulwich remained loyal to the cause and their efforts were rewarded, when, in the 81st minute Rob French stepped up to convert a penalty for the equaliser. This seemed to ruffle the feathers of Harlow but they were able to hold out for the draw.

In Division Three, Croydon Athletic went to the top of the table after thrashing Clapton 8-1 at home in a game in which Elliott Lyward grabbed a hat-trick and John Fowler got a double. The only problem now is the frustration of waiting to get their hands on the Championship Trophy in April.
