A LANDLORD who wrongfully evicted three tenants from his Plumstead property has been fined £600.
Raymond Curtis, of Catford, pleaded guilty to the offences on Monday, October 22, after he ignored three warnings from Greenwich Council not to evict his tenants from their Brewery Road home.
Curtis, of Hazelbank Road, was found guilty under the Protection from Eviction Act 1977 by Woolwich Magistrates' Court.
He was ordered to pay £600 costs on top of the fine.
Executive member for neighbourhood renewal and housing Councillor Angela Cornforth said: "Council officers in the housing aid centre will always try to informally resolve disputes between landlords and tenants.
"However, where the advice of council officers is ignored and tenants are evicted unlawfully, the council will bring prosecutions."
