A LEAFLET is now available to gauge reaction to the amalgamation of two Orpington schools.

Bromley Council has launched the consultation to canvass the public on the proposal to merge Blenheim infant and Blenheim junior schools which are both on the Ramsden estate.

The amalgamation would create a primary school for four to 11-years-old in the current junior school.

The new school would open in January 2003 and take 30 children into its reception class each year.

The leaflets have been widely circulated among interested parties and there is still plenty of time to express an opinion before the consultation is closed on November 16, 2001.

Further copies are available from the Walnuts and Bromley Civic Centre main reception areas and Orpington Library, or by calling 020 8313 4088.

There are also a number of ways to respond to the consultation. Residents can:

l Complete and return the tear-off slip on the leaflet

l Respond on the internet by logging on to www.blenheim@bromley.gov.uk

l Write a letter to Ken Davis, director of education, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, BR1 3UH.
