THE BEST: Bromley Mayor John Holbrook and Councillor Joan Wykes (seated) with the winners of prizes for Bromley in Bloom 2001. The competition, launched in April, had more than 150 entries in 11 categories. Royal Parade in Chislehurst beat stiff competition from Orpington and Bromley to take the most colourful High Street award, and the Shortlands Tavern won the contest for licensed premises. Cllr Wykes, chairman of the leisure and community services committee, said: "The quality and quantity of entries has been higher than ever this year so my congratulations go to all entrants. Bromley in Bloom has grown into something even more special"
