The publicity for Lorien warned us that they were "fragile". The dictionary defines the word as "in a weakened state", and I can't think of a better description for their debut single, Shivering Sun'.

There is nothing wrong with the band or the music. It's competent indie misery, but compared to similar modern bands like the War Poets or Clearlake, it simply doesn't pass muster.

The band's musical style utterly fails to draw in the listener and their songs quickly fade into the background.

Give this a miss and listen to the War Poets instead.
