TRAFFIC officers this week launched an investigation into speeding police cars after an elderly woman was hit by an out-of-control response vehicle.
The 80-year-old woman was waiting on a road island at the junction of Hounslow Road and Harlington Road in Feltham at about 1pm on Thursday last week (October 18) when the police car, responding to an emergency call, hit a Ford Orion, road signs and lights before knocking her down.
Suffering injuries to her arm, the woman was taken to West Middlesex Hospital where she was this week said to be in a stable condition.
The Orion driver was also taken to hospital suffering chest injuries but was later released.
