RAM-RAIDING thieves tried to steal a cash dispenser on Friday last week (October 19) by smashing a van repeatedly through a wall until it caved in.
At approximately 10.40pm, two male suspects drove into the side wall of Budgens store on Staines Road, Bedfont, before reversing back and hitting it repeatedly.
After smashing through the wall the thieves then attempted to break into the hole in the wall before realising they could not open it.
They made of in a waiting Saab convertible, leaving the 'K' registration white transit van stuck halfway in the store. Police discovered that the van had been stolen from the Slough area two days earlier. It is also believed that the Saab was stolen from Thorney Golf Club in Iver.
Witnesses have been asked to contact police on 020 8247 6129.
