Ellen kent & Opera International returns to the Orchard Theatre, Dartford, with the spectacular and enriching traditional production of Bizet's Carmen, performed by the full company and orchestra of the critically-acclaimed Chisinau National Opera from Eastern Europe.

Carmen is the story of the bewitching gipsy girl whose tantalising beauty lures a soldier to desertion from the army.

It is this act of love which eventually leads to her own murder.

This incredibly passionate tale is told through some of the world's most evocative melodies, including The Habanera, The Seguidilla, The Flower Song and perhaps the best-known baritone aria of all, The Toreador's Song.

The opera also includes an authentic gipsy flamenco dance sequence by the Jaleo Company of flamenco dancers from Seville.

Carmen, October 31, Orchard Theatre, Home Gardens, Dartford, 7.30pm, £26-£30, children half-price, 01322 220099.
