I would like to say how much I agree with your reader regarding foxes.
I, too, have foxes coming into my garden and what a joy they are to observe. One in particular has become quite close to me and comes around every evening for his meal. I have also noted that they are very wary of my cat.
As regards the smell they can cause. I feel we get plenty of rain to eliminate that and the other reader who complained of a few holes in the lawn well I enjoy gardening very much and keep my garden in reasonable order, but the pleasure I receive from these delightful animals far outweighs a perfect lawn.
I feel quite honoured to have gained the trust of a wild animal.
Readers may be interested to know that you can get free mange treatment for foxes from The National Fox Welfare Society, 135 Higham Road, Rushden, Northants, NN10 0EP.
I sent a small donation to them after receiving the medication but they will send it free to you.
