Kingstonian fans must keep supporting the teams efforts on the pitch while the clubs financial crisis is being sorted out.

That is the message from the clubs administrators Begbies Traynor, who officially announced their involvement at Ks yesterday.

Nick Hood, a partner at the corporate recovery specialists, said: The most important thing now is that the fans give the team maximum support, because success on the pitch is every bit as important as the negotiations with potential backers.

I want fans, players and staff to know I shall do everything in my power to bring the existing negotiations to a successful conclusion.

Meanwhile, Ks chairman Alan Kingston says the move into administration will benefit the club in the long term.

We are making good progress, he said. We are talking to two parties who will enable the club to continue for the rest of the season and long into the future.

Kingston said he was very happy with the external app-ointment, by Barclays Bank, of chartered accountants Begbies Traynor to deal with the clubs finances.

They are experienced in dealing with football matters they helped QPR, Southend and Wealdstone, so they have good knowledge about clubs in our situation, said Kingston, who then blasted people for, he claims, spreading rumours about the club and its directors without any knowledge of the situation.

Some of the stuff I have read is absolute gobbledegook, he said.

People are spreading rumours when they have no idea whats going on.

People like Barry Gold must be wondering why they ever helped the club. He has done all sorts of things to help Kingstonian and pumped more than £100,000 into this club.

He has seen nothing come back to him and why people write these things about him is beyond me.

The Ks were due to hold a forum last night (Thursday) for their supporters to hear the situation at the club.

The administrators were also due to be represented at the meeting to give fans an idea of the dangers the club faces and what measures can be taken to rectify the problems.

l Ks boss Steve Sedgley was content with his teams overall display despite losing 3-0 to Aldershot one of the early favourites to win promotion.

Quick

We were not quick enough to the ball and could have been three or four nil down at the break, he said. After half time we got back into the game and created a few chances, but then got caught out pushing forward. But I thought my young team acquitted themselves very well in what has been a difficult week.

Even though the future of the club is not clear, Sedgley is adamant the players are giving him everything and he cannot thank the fans enough for their patience and support.

The fans were great again, he said. Their support gives the lads a lift and I think they appreciate we are trying to turn things around.
