NEW Leyton Orient boss Paul Brush walked away a relieved man after claiming a point after a 1-1 draw against Hull City on Tuesday night.

Hull City defender Justin Whittle put through his own net deep into injury time to give Leyton Orient a deserved share of the spoils at Boothferry Park.

Brush was understandably a happy man after the game: "I thought we thoroughly deserved the point. We put them under some pressure, and they have a tremendous home record of six wins and a draw, but we've come here and probably had eight or ten chances.

"Their goalkeeper was probably the best player in the first half, so that says a lot for what we managed to achieve in the second quarter. We did have to absorb some pressure early on and Scott Barrett made one tremendous save, but we had a number of chances just before half time. Their goalkeeper did ever so well, but at least it shows we've created things.

"Some of the football we played, mostly on the floor, was a joy to watch, but we just got caught out when we were down to ten men, and we didnt deserve that."

Orient went behind on 77 minutes when cross from the wing was headed down by Hull's David Beresford to Gary Alexander, who rifled the ball past Scott Barrett's left hand.
