The National Blood Service is appealing for help to find suitable venues for blood donor sessions in Richmond.
Changes introduced at the services present location at Richmond College will result in the loss of late sessions starting from early next year.
The lack of a venue during these times would have a detrimental effect on the number of donations taken in Richmond.
The service makes six visits to the borough a year and a drop in the number of donations is equivalent to the loss of 100 life saving blood transfusions.
The venue must be at least 50ft by 60ft, have power points and good lighting and preferably be on the ground floor. Toilet facilities and access to drinking water must also be available.
Russell Guthrie, of the National Blood Service, said: In order for Richmond to reach its true blood potential we must find a suitable venue.
This appeal is attempting to tap in to the local knowledge that only residents possess.
