A recently launched Christian youth initiative could help the dire state of youth services across the borough, according to the Christian Peoples Alliance (CPA).
Oxygen, which runs at St Peters Hall in Norbiton, provides activities including football, drama, breakfast clubs and community action for youngsters aged between 13 and 18.
The new initiative was the brainchild of Steve Benoy, curate from Christ Church in New Malden, and is supported by over 20 local churches.
Peter Flower, spokesman for the CPA, said: Oxygen is a real breath of fresh air.
It shows how community leaders, council officers and Christians can work closely together to tackle real needs in the borough.
