The teens were out in force on Sunday night for the launch party of Connexions, a new youth service for teenagers in south London.

In total 650 teenagers turned up at McCluskeys night club in Thames Street, Kingston, to help celebrate from 6pm to 11pm.

The event was officially opened by the Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Jeremy Thorn, after speeches about the new service from Connexions chief executive of south London, Mark Ainsworth and John Braithwaite, Kingstons director of education.

Mr Ainsworth said: The Connexions service will help, support and guide all young people through their teenage years, especially those who are disadvantaged or disaffected.

The party was an under- 18 dance event and featured local DJs.
