ELTHAM Park Pleasant Sunday Afternoon Society (PSA) has been awarded a certificate of merit and the William Smith Memorial Trophy for its achievements during 2000.
This society, which has been meeting at Eltham Park Methodist Church for more than 80 years, currently holds Musical Pleasant Sunday Afternoons on the last Sunday of each month at 3pm.
With its 18-piece orchestra, conducted by Ted Williams, attendances average over 70.
Last Sunday saw guest vocalist Bernadette Cowey and accompanist Tom Wade entertaining along with Joan Oliver, representing the London Federation of the National Brotherhood and Sisterhood Movement, who presented the trophy to the society.
