How absolutely deplorable that 18 youngsters are being deprived of their education in the borough because their parents didn't want them to go to Stanley Park High School and others outside the borough.
And, how many kids from other boroughs have nicked the places that should go to our children?
That they are asking their friends to bring them homework shows they are not skivers.
As one parent correctly pointed out her child would have to leave home at 7am and would not get home until 5pm. With the dark nights approaching, this is too horrendous to contemplate.
This matter must be resolved immediately. Surely the local schools can squeeze these pupils in.
And, as for the parents expecting to be served a legal enforcement order. All those responsible should be hauled before the courts and charged with depriving our kids of an education.
Local children should be given preference to school places in our borough. The out of borough kids can go to their own schools.
