martyr in court: Self-styled metric martyr Peter Collins will put his case to continue selling loose goods exclusively by the pound to the High Court, next month. The Sutton High Street fruit seller will join be in court on Monday, November 19, in a five-day hearing to settle the legality of their non-conversion to the metric system. In July, Sutton magistrates upheld borough trading standards officers decision to revoke Mr Collinss trading license for his continued use of imperial weights.

housing scheme: Teenage mothers and young people deemed at risk could benefit from supported housing schemes, if borough councillors back the projects on Monday. The strategy committee will decide on plans to use section 106 money funds provided by developers for social purposes and proceeds from a land sale, to fund the projects.
