THE Royal British Legion, an organisation that delivers a caring service for the benefit of the ex-service community, is celebrating its 80th anniversary.
I hope that residents will continue to give generously to support the Poppy Appeal that started on October 27 and finishes on November 10.
Last year, the first Poppy Appeal of the new Millennium just exceeded the target of £20m thanks to the generosity of the general public.
The need for the services provided by the Royal British Legion increases each year.
Please continue to give generously and support this important organisation.
