FRAMED reproductions of four masterpieces by some of the world's greatest artists are to be on permanent show at Herts and Essex High School in Bishop's Stortford and Leventhorpe School in Sawbridgeworth.
The pictures, part of the Sainsbury's Pictures for Schools scheme, will be used as part of the curriculum to inspire pupils and teachers and encourage an appreciation of art.
Children and staff from both schools were presented with the pictures by Peter Londsdale, manager of Sainsbury's Bishop's Stortford store.
This year's selection was chosen by the rector of the Royal College of Art, Sir Christopher Frayling.
The paintings are all based on the theme of childhood and learning.
As well as the pictures, each school receives a specially prepared pack containing teacher's notes, postcards and a video.
