A Putney aromatherapist has been given a prestigious award by a professional body within the industry
Viv Knowland has received the Sutherland Award from the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) given annually to a member of the 5,000-strong association who has made a significant, practical contribution to the running of the IFPA'.
Ms Knowland, who has her own practice, is also a home visitor for the Wandsworth Cancer Resource Centre and treats executives at the head office of Marks & Spencer.
She said: "Whatever I do, I do wholeheartedly and am a great believer of the saying you get out what you put into life'.
I am lucky in being able to help others, there is nothing more rewarding.
Before training in complementary medicine Ms Knowland was a successful hat designer and made several hats for the Princess Diana.
