A dozen students from Fulham's Football into Work scheme were presented with certificates last week at the club's training ground at Motspur Park.
The evening consisted of a football match involving students from the course, FFC staff and mentor coaches. It was followed by the presentation of certificates by Cheryl Sinclair-Lucas, the marketing and communications manager of Regenesis.
The evening celebrated the students' achievements during their time at Fulham and also highlighted the importance of the club's partnership with Regenesis (formally Hammersmith & Fulham regeneration partnership).
The Football into Work scheme has proved an invaluable catalyst in helping local youngsters into employment. A recent survey, conducted by the West London club showed that over half the number of students who completed the course are now employed on either a full or part-time basis.
To date a total of 58 participants have gained over 200 formal qualifications.
Justin Hill, manager of Football into Work, said: "Football into Work is an excellent initiative as it provides opportunities for young people to take their interests further and at the same time gain valuable practical experience as well as qualifications".
Football into Work course number six starts in January. For further information phone 020 7384 4768.
