CHARLTON 1 FULHAM LADIES 5

On Sunday Fulham faced Charlton in the second round of the League Cup.

Fulham Ladies took the lead in the third minute, after a fine cross from Kristy Moore saw Marianne Pettersen slot in from six yards. Charlton equalised after 16 minutes with a shot from 30 yards.

Fulham then picked themselves up and Kim Jerray-Silver scored on 27 minutes with a curled shot into the top right hand corner.

The second half showed Fulham playing longer balls up the field and after 51 minutes, Margunn Haugenes scored from a Marianne Pettersen flick.

Sanchia Duncan replaced Kristy Moore after 74 minutes and seven minutes later she crossed for Marianne Pettersen to score her second.

In the 88th minute, Deena Rahman replaced Margunn Haugenes who was carried off the pitch and sent to hospital with a foot injury.

Fulham Ladies have so far avoided any injuries but now have Haugenes and Rachel Unitt out of action, although both players should be back in a couple of weeks time.

Pettersen completed her hat-trick in injury time with a perfect shot from the 18 yard line, leaving England goalkeeper Pauline Cope with no chance.

The draw for the quarter finals of the League Cup are announced today and will be played on Sunday November 11.

Goal scorers: Marianne Pettersen (3) (3 mins, 83 min 90 min), Kim Jerray-Silver (1) (27 min) and Margunn Haugenes (1) (51 min).

Fulham Ladies next game is away to Bristol Rovers this coming Sunday. Kick off 2pm.
