ARMED with a variety of gardening tools and a heap of determination, volunteers started to clear an overgrown woodland at a Dartford college.
Thirty volunteers from The Woolwich and Ekins Surveyors joined Groundwork staff and teachers from Leigh City Technological College to clear up part of the grounds.
They felled invasive trees and bushes to form a network of paths and allow smaller plants to flourish there. Further work is planned to transform the previously impassable woodland into an area where students can learn more about the natural environment.
The work was part of Make A Difference Day, a national campaign which aims to promote voluntary work within the community.
